BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a life long resident of Macomb County.  I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Warren Woods Tower, with Honors from Michigan State University, and I received my law degree from Wayne State University.  I am a wife and mother, and the proud sister of two brothers. I am fortunate to have parents who are very supportive and have taught me strong family values and good work ethic.

 

PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

I have tried cases in the district and circuit courts of this State, and have argued cases in the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. In addition to my civil law practice, I have criminal law experience on both sides of the spectrum, having prosecuted and defended those accused of a crime.

Mihelich and Kavanaugh, PLC - Clerked in general practice firm which included legal research and drafting motions and responses.

Wayne County Prosecutors Office - worked in the Child Family and Abuse Division prosecuting personal protection order (PPO) violators.

Clerked for Judge Micheal D. Schwartz - conducted legal research, reviewed motions and authored opinions.

2008-2009 Served as Charter Commissioner for District 18.  Chaired the Ethics Committee which incorporated an Ethics Board to investigate potential violations by government and elected officials.
